When the province resumed some of the bargaining for all collective agreements in Ontario, the WAAO was created. The alliance began with 15,000 members and is meeting to negotiate with the provincial government. The government, together with the province`s boards of directors, would no longer deal with benefit packages. It would be a cost saving, both for the province and for the boards of directors, to download it to the various unions. It is therefore the EWAO group that created, organized and managed our current benefit packages.
